Just take a look at this!
The sky was still gloomily overcast and rain was always just
a minute away, but even that sort of sky didn’t deaden the impact much – wow!
We trundled on from there and headed off to Warrnambool
hoping to catch up with a fellow Cats fan, my mate Darky. Sadly, he had been
working some awful shifts at work (he’s an ambo medic) and wasn’t able to catch up, but we’ll get
another chance sometime soon.
We found that Warrnambool was a bit too big for comfort
(yeah, I know) so we headed on to Port Campbell where the rain that had been
hassling us all day cleared and left us with some magical views and a bitingly
cold wind.
As I said, a very nice bar!
Before we hit Port Campbell though, we happened upon the Bay
of Islands. I am sure this place wasn’t on the map (except in NZ) when we lived
in Geelong nearly 20 years ago, but it is now and it is spectacular. What the
photos don’t show is the wind that was roaring around – more than enough to
blow the proverbial brown dog off a chain!
Blue Lake is indeed very blue! Mum looks like she's settling into life on the road very easily! You look so cold, all rugged up though!!!! Hahahahahahaha. Weather has been pretty pleasant in Darwin. Lovely breezes taking away the humidity. Pretty perfect actually!!! Hehehe. <3 Miss you guys xxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteI had to reread the comment about meeting Darky at Warrnambool.
ReplyDeleteDarky has a (second ?) cousin who works shift at Portland
